BIOGRAPHY

Michael James Dombrowski started playing accordion
at age 6.  He comes from German as well as Polish
background, but this does not limit his playing as you
will see in his repertoire.  Intrigued by the look and
sound of the instrument Michael took private lessons
on the accordion from LoDuca Bros, Modern Music -
Stanley Kupczyk  and  Tony Zainer totaling 19 years.   

His professional career started at age 15 when he
received his first paid appointment as the lead
musician for the P.R.C.U.A. Polish Dancers.  During
this time Michael Perfected his Vocal Abilities through
the fine arts program at Pius XI high School,
Milwaukee, WI.  Graduating with honors at both Pius XI
and Marquette University Michael entered the business
world full time in 1991.  Major Events involving
Michael's Musical Career include.   Godspell (Jesus),
Music-Man (quartet), Mame(Dancer),  Oliver (dancer)
and Cabaret as a singer and dancer.  

He has received numerous awards for Solo Vocal and
Ensemble State of Wisconsin competitions.  First place
as an accordionist in the Milwaukee Park System 4th
of July Talent Contest at Alcott Park.  He performed in
the Judy Tinuda Accordion Talent contest at the
Bradley Center taking Second Place.   

Side performances include, intermission entertainment
for the Miss West Allis Scholarship Pageants as well
as MC  for the event & Featured guest for Arabesque
Dance Studio in Milwaukee in their Polka selection.   

Michael Has given occasional television performances
through his own cable show Youth in Action and Gene’
s Polka show in local West Allis and New Berlin cable.  
Appearances in Milwaukee Parades were
commonplace, Western Days, Milwaukee Festivals, 4th
of July etc.   Milwaukee Polish Fest is among Michaels
greatest Audiences as well as Folk Fair Performances
in the Milwaukee Bucks Arena.  

Also a recording artist , Michael has used his
Broadcast degree to produce various professional
audio and video recordings since 1991.  Among
Michael’s favorite releases are Loving Memories,
Reflections of the Heart, Soft Sounds of the Cordovox,
Live at the St. John’s fish Fry, Polish Fest 2000 The
Best of Michael James Dombrowski 2005, and many
unpublished recordings that are archived going back to
his first recording every made by his mother in his first
week of practice in 1975.  

Now married with 5 children Michael continues a
tradition started thousands of years ago.  A Family
